My Artistic Journey
Welcome to MadebyMonika
I am Monika and I live and work on the edge of the beautiful English Lake District.I have always had a passion for art and worked as a glass artist for some years before becoming a florist. I also trained a a baker upon leaving school so creativity is something that comes naturally to me. Inspired by the stunning natural landscape here in Cumbria I started to paint as a hobby and after gifting several pieces to friends and family i was so encouraged by the positive feedback I took the plunge and started my own business in late 2023. It was tough to get going but the love and support of those around me has enabled me to fulfil my dream and follow my passion for painting.
My years as a florist means I am never short of ideas for new designs and I also only have to look out of the window and see my beautiful garden with a backdrop of rolling hills and rugged mountains for more inspiration.
I hope you love my pieces as much as I love creating them. Each piece is unique and painted with love from my heart.
Yours Monika

Where Art Meets Passion

At MadebyMonika, I believe in the power of art to inspire and transform.
Every brush stroke on my hand painted glass embodies creativity and passion.
Join me in celebrating artistry that resonates with the heart.

Unique gifts for all occasions
I can be found selling my creations at many local markets in Cumbria including Keswick, Bowness on Windermere and Workington. (I might not be there every week but if you see me come and say hello)
I am happy to take commissions so if you see something you like please drop me an email, message me on facebook or give me a ring.
Because all my pieces are unique it is not always possible to source the same glass but I have a large range of alternatives if needed

My promise
Repurpose. Reuse. Recycle. Reimagine
I strongly believe in doing what I can to help the environment.
I am so so lucky to live in an area of such outstanding natural beauty I feel it is only right that I give something back. Much of my glassware is saved from going to landfill and given a new life as something you can love and treasure for years to come.
I am also determined to be as carbon neutral as possible as a business and as such will plant at least a tree a month from the start of my business. Up to date ( June 2025) I have planted over 50 native British trees on my 2 acre field and am pleased to say the wild roses are now flowering and hazels growing strongly (hopefully in a few years a few red squirrels may be tempted to come and pay a visit)

A big big thank you to all who have helped me on my way. Friends, family fellow market traders and you the customers without whom I wouldn't be here today writing this.
